Discover Morocco on a private 6-day desert tour from Marrakech to Casablanca, combining the High Atlas Mountains, ancient kasbahs, dramatic valleys, the Sahara Desert, Fes, Chefchaouen and the Atlantic energy of Casablanca. This journey is designed for travelers who want to experience Morocco’s desert landscapes, imperial heritage, Berber culture, mountain roads, blue-painted streets and coastal atmosphere in one well-balanced itinerary.
Day 1
Your 6-day desert tour begins with pickup from your hotel, riad, airport, or preferred meeting point in Marrakech. Leave the city and travel through the High Atlas Mountains via the famous Tizi n'Tichka Pass, one of Morocco’s most scenic mountain roads. Enjoy panoramic stops along the way before reaching Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its earthen architecture and historic kasbahs. After exploring the fortified village, continue toward Ouarzazate, often called the gateway to the desert. The route then passes through Kalaat M'Gouna, known as the City of Roses, before arriving in the Dades Valley for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2
After breakfast in Dades Valley, continue toward the Todra Gorges, one of Morocco’s most impressive natural canyons. Walk between the towering cliffs and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the oasis before continuing through palm groves, Berber villages and desert towns. After a possible lunch stop in Tinjdad or Touroug, arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. In the late afternoon, ride camels across the golden Erg Chebbi dunes as the sun sets. Your luggage will be transferred separately to the camp. Enjoy dinner, Berber music and a magical night under the stars in a luxury desert camp.
Day 3
Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise over the Sahara dunes before breakfast. This day is dedicated to exploring the Merzouga region at a relaxed pace. Travel by 4x4 around Erg Chebbi, visit nomad families and learn about their traditional way of life in the desert. Continue to Khamlia village, known for Gnawa music and desert rhythms, and enjoy a warm cultural encounter with local musicians. Depending on the season and local conditions, you may also visit desert viewpoints or the Merzouga lake area. In the afternoon, return to your accommodation near the dunes for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4
After breakfast, leave the Sahara Desert and begin the journey toward Fes. Travel through the scenic Ziz Valley, famous for its palm groves, rocky cliffs and panoramic viewpoints. Continue across the Middle Atlas Mountains and stop near the Cedar Forest, where Barbary macaques can often be seen in their natural environment. On the way, visit Ifrane, a clean mountain town known for its alpine-style architecture and cool climate. Arrive in Fes in the evening and settle into your hotel or riad.
Day 5
After breakfast, discover the cultural heart of Fes with a local guide. Explore the UNESCO-listed medina, traditional souks, historic schools, fountains and artisan quarters. Highlights may include Bab Boujloud, the Royal Palace Gate, Al Quaraouiyine University, Bou Inania Madrasa and the famous tanneries. After the city visit, depart toward Chefchaouen, the famous Blue City nestled in the Rif Mountains. Arrive in the evening and enjoy a relaxed walk through its charming blue-painted streets before checking in for the night.
Day 6
Enjoy a peaceful morning in Chefchaouen with time to walk through its quiet blue alleys, small squares and artisan shops. Afterward, depart toward Casablanca, Morocco’s largest and most cosmopolitan city. Upon arrival, depending on timing, you may visit the exterior of the iconic Hassan II Mosque and enjoy the atmosphere of the Atlantic Corniche. Your driver will drop you off at your hotel, airport, or preferred location in Casablanca. End of the 6-day desert tour from Marrakech to Casablanca.
